Jeannie’s Story

Jeannie Stokes could have never imagined all God had in store for her life.

After recently returning to her hometown of Orlando with her four year old daughter, Kayla, she was unsure of the next steps God wanted her to take. But Jesus had a plan He would literally deliver to her front door.

“I learned about Grace through the orange card, with the white cross on it that came in the mail. I read it and stuck it on the fridge. The night before launch I decided to get on the website and see what Grace Conway was all about. As I looked around, I found a video that told the stories of the Grace team. God used their words to speak to my heart and I immediately decided my daughter and I would be at their first service the next morning.”

Jeannie and Kayla loved what they found at Grace and began attending every week, but unexpected vehicle problems left Jeannie wondering if she would be able to continue. “I had to make some calls to my new friends at Grace and ask for a ride to church. This was not easy for me because I’ve always been a very independent person, but knowing my church family was there for me and willing to not only pick Kayla and me up for church, but also spend hours working under the hood of my car to make it run again, was beyond comforting.”

Since becoming a part of Grace Conway, Jeannie has plugged-in by getting involved in a Grace Community, serving in graceKIDS and even helping with tear down on Sunday. No doubt, working together, Jeannie and Kayla can dismantle the lobby signs in record speed!

“Since Jesus led me to Grace, He has been growing me in patience and made me stop and think about His unconditional love for me. Every week, I am maturing as a Christian and challenged to seek ways to care for and lift up others around me. I’m so thankful for how God has moved at Grace and in me.”

Jeannie had no idea that God would use a post-card to change her life. She never knew God was going to guide her next steps to the front door of Grace Conway. But He did. And we’re so glad she’s home.
